Helen Goddard

BSc MSc AIEMA Environmental Consultant & GIS Specialist Helen Goddard has a Masters degree in GIS and Environmental Management at the University of Brighton. She has an excellent knowledge of sustainability appraisal and strategic environmental assessment, environmental impact assessment, ecology, geographic information systems, spatial data analysis and environmental management systems. She has contributed to a number of Habitat Regulations Assessments, and is experienced in public open space and green infrastructure assessments in village and city settings, using GIS as a tool to fit green networks. She is proficient in ArcGIS, having used GIS in a number of public, private and academic settings, for instance undertaking a wind farm site suitability analysis for Brighton and Hove, a catchment area analysis of recycling units in Eastbourne, digitisation of farmland for the Rural Payments Agency (DEFRA) and numerous projects on Tree Preservation Orders and Telecommunication Masts for the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead's Planning Policy Unit. At UE Associates, her GIS work ranges from wide-scale projects for the Black Country sub-region and Scotland's National Scenic Areas, mapping for the SA/SEA/HRA projects in the Solent, Mid Sussex and Harborough, to localised projects such as the Environmental Impact Assessment of a waterside development in Brentford. Helen is currently Project Manager of the Valuing Chichester Harbour Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, an exercise in environmental economics requiring primary and secondary data generation analysis and presentation. She is involved in the Green Infrastructure Strategy for Urban South Hampshire, the SEA of the Scottish Government's National Scenic Areas Programme, the HRA of Havant Borough Council's Core Strategy and the SA/SEA of Wolverhampton City Council's Sustainable Community Strategy. Helen is also responsible for design of UE Associates's reports, website, publicity media and information sheets, using InDesign and Adobe Photoshop to a high standard.
