Nick Chisholm-Batten

BSc MA AIEMA Senior Environmental Consultant Nick Chisholm-Batten is a Senior Environmental Consultant who specialises in environmental assessment and environmental policy. Having led SEAs and SAs since the before the implementation of the SEA Directive he has had wide experience of SEA/SA across a broad range of sectors and has a close interest in developing SEAs/SAs which are clear, accessible and which proactively inform and influence the plan making process. Nick joined UE Associates from an international multidisciplinary consulting firm where he worked on a variety of SEA/SA commissions including for Local Development Framework Core Strategies, Area Action Plans and Masterplans; Sub-Regional Strategies; Waste and Minerals Development Frameworks; English Local Transport Plans and Scottish Local Transport Strategies. Previously he worked for Devon County Council where he was the Policy Integration Officer leading in-house SEA/SAs and advising on the implications of regional, national, EU and international policy developments for the county. Recent projects Nick has been involved with at UE Associates include: SA/SEA of Harborough District Council's Local Development Framework Core Strategy; the SA/SEA, Equalities Impact Assessment and Health Impact Assessment of Sustainable Community Strategies for Wolverhampton City Council, Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council and Walsall Council; the SA/SEA of the Black Country Joint Core Strategy; SA/SEA of two AAPs in Wolverhampton; and the SA/SEA of North East Derbyshire District Council's Affordable Housing SPD. Nick completed an M.Sc. in Environmental Assessment and Evaluation at the London School of Economics in 2003 and is an Associate Member of the Institute for Environmental Management and Assessment.
