BSc (Hons) MSc CEnv MIEEM Director Neil Davidson is a Chartered Environmental Consultant with more than 20 years practice in land management, Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA), Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA), planning, ecological assessment, recreation strategies and sustainability issues. He is currently involved in undertaking SEA and Sustainability Appraisal (SA) of four spatial plans, three Regional Economic Strategies and the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty SEA. He has recently completed SEAs of two Local Transport Plans. Neil is an experienced Project Director and Project Manager. Prior to establishing UE Associates, Neil was Market Sector Manager for SEA at Halcrow Group Limited. Duties included running the UK SEA team, winning work and reporting to the Directorate. Prior to this, he was a principal consultant at CPM Environmental Planning and Design and Project Manager on a range of infrastructure projects including, housing, transport and mixed use developments throughout the South of England and the Midlands. Projects included EIA work for large scale master planning projects, the Countryside Agency's Heritage Estate Management advice project and assisting with the South Downs National Park Inquiry. At the Countryside Agency (London and Cheltenham), Neil was responsible for the grant aid and strategic management of various AONBs, the Great Trees of London scheme, national trails, green corridors and integrated access demonstration projects. During this period he regularly worked with Regional Park Authorities and the London Walking Forum. He also worked on the Environmental Capital concept. Between 1999 and 2003 he was a policy advisor for Part 1 of the 2000 Countryside and Rights of Way Act. Neil is a trained ecologist and worked in this capacity for three years at Buckinghamshire County Council. |
